It's almost February, 2026 and I am a very busy person. I have a meeting with my book cover designer tomorrow as I continue to prepare for a March, 2026 publishing date for my memoir The Nunavut I Knew. I've recently started contacting book stores in Southern Ontario... letting them know about my soon to be published memoir and just a few minutes ago, Lockwood Books in St. Thomas replied and invited me to set up a meet'n'greet/book signing event for this coming October. Exciting things are unfolding!
This gave me an idea...
I think many of you will enjoy seeing this adventure unfold, so I've created this new page where I'll be sharing some of the highlights of these happenings. So... let's begin with a Facebook post I made a few minutes ago...

A few days ago, I received this quick note on Facebook messenger from a friend who is reading my memoir. They will be writing a review very soon, but for today, let's check out their message and my reply...

Today, a bookstore in Port Stanley, Ontario sent me a reply email saying that they will sell my memoir on consignment (once it's ready) and organize a book signing event sometime this summer! Exciting!

Today, I received an email approving me to be a vendor at an upcoming
Spring Market! This got me thinking that I should add another page
to my website promoting these events... so... here it is...

Just a few days ago, I finally approved the front cover design for my memoir!

Today, my back cover design has been finalized! Very exciting!!
It took me two videos to share the stories and thinking processes that went
into this final design. These videos are only 3 minutes long - eh! Haha!

My memoir should be ready for the world before the end of March, 2026... but just
in case there's any problems and delays, The Byron Villager magazine article has
been scheduled to appear in the May issue.
I will look forward to sharing this in a couple more months...

My family and I had a nice afternoon in Port Stanley
enjoying the sunshine! While we were there, we dropped
into Lake House Books where I'm soon to have a super fun
book launch event. We met the owner of the store and we've
set a date for this event...

and just the other day, some of the things that I'll need arrived
in the mail. I got this funky banner and a runner.
These items will help me to create a nice presentation while
I'm at the the events where I'll be showcasing

I'm so glad that kdp Amazon allows us to preview the material
before we move forward. I just found this mistake for the ebook!
The name of my second 'reviewer' is NOT on the bottom of page 3...
it's on the top of page 4! Not good!
With the paperback...
My beautiful 'Dedication' page does not fit within
the dashed lines and could cause some problems when it's printed!
Geepers!
I'm paying professionals good money to do their job!
They should know what guidelines exist and they should be
checking their own work before sending it to me!

I finally got all the pieces that I need to upload my memoir
to kdp Amazon! Book covers have been finalized!
Mistakes in the formatting have been corrected!
