Summer Rock Soundtrack for 2018

Music has always been a very important factor in my life.  I love Rock’N’Roll!!!!  Songs have influenced my artwork, poetry and even songs that I have created!  Years ago, I was a volunteer DJ at a radio station in Nelson, British Columbia and the next few years saw me earning a living as a night club DJ as well as being a DJ for weddings and stag’n’does!

Once, at the end of a wedding party, the bartender came up to me and offered me a drink and told me that he has bartended many weddings and he has never enjoyed the quality of songs, variety and overall atmosphere of a wedding party as much as he enjoyed mine!  A nice compliment!!

I have never understood why radio stations don’t offer more variety.  There’s so much music in the world and yet they seem to think that everyone loves having the same songs (day after day) being crammed down their throats.  Here in London, I mostly listen to FM96 while enroute to work and even at work – I drive a mini-bus around London taking people with mobility concerns (wheelchair, walker, seeing eye dog) where they need to go.  It’s nice to have music when doing a job like this… but it gets very boring listening to the same songs.

When my wife and I opened our dog grooming business, we started using an online music source.  It only costs $10 each month and you can play anything that they have in their library…. and that’s a lot!!! A LOT!!!!!  My wife chooses from a large selection of pre-made play lists to play for our customers while I use the service to create amazing Rock’N’Roll playlists for my own enjoyment!

One of our groomers and I chat about music, quite a bit.  One day, I told Alexis that I would create a playlist for her and her husband to enjoy over the summer!  Well… that simple idea has turned into another fun project for me, and because I put quite a bit of effort into this playlist, I thought that it would be great to share it with my readers from around the world!!!

I could write a lot about this playlist…. Why I chose the songs I did?  Why I put them in the order that I did?  I could share many personal experiences about particular songs in this play list….and on and on!  But I won’t!  I’ll let the music speak for itself!!!!

The one part of this project that is very exciting for me is the fact that many of my readers live in other countries.  Last month, I had a lot or readers from Russia!  Two weeks ago, most of my ‘hits’ where coming from China and the week after that Germany and the Ukraine where my number one viewers.  I’m excited to share this music with all my readers from around the world.  I think it would be great if people in Mexico or Sweden took my music list and found that they just loved a few of the bands and songs that I’ve presented here!  I hope that this music list inspires listeners to check out other music by the bands I’ve brought together!  It’s always fun exploring new bands and new songs and I am very keen on sharing this list with all of you!!!!

So – with no further adieu…. here is my music list that I hope will become a part of your own personal soundtrack during this summer of 2018!  They are presented as ‘song’ – ‘artist’ – ‘album’

Please enjoy!!!!
