Three types of protesting for this action - Tesla Takedown London ON

Our group had come up with three different peaceful actions that we could do to protest fascism and Tesla!

1) Actual protests

This meant selecting dates and times for our protests... preparing signs... promoting the events... getting the media's attention!

Since I have been an activist for 30 years... and there's so many protests happening all around the world these days, I decided to create a series of Youtube 'shorts' to share ideas and inspire others to take peaceful action wherever they may be. Many people are taking to the streets to protest for the first time in their lives, so I thought it would be helpful to share some ideas. I also use these videos to promote our protest events!!! So... I am accomplishing two things at the same time!

Here are some of the 'shorts' that I made...

This video focuses on 'messaging'! What is your message? Keep it simple! Keep it easy to read and understand! Think about the 'presentation' that you want to create for those walking or driving by!

Messaging For Your Protest

This video focuses on getting friends, family... and our children involved! It's so important to teach our children how to take action against 'things' that will harm others in our society.

Teaching Our Children

I'm an artist! I like to be creative in all I do! This video is me having a little bit of fun while getting signs ready for our protest.

Having Fun Painting Signs

This video shows me calling the security in Masonville Mall where a Tesla showroom opened in December of 2024. To be clear... the protests that we are organizing will be at the Tesla dealership/showroom on Wonderland Rd. S. but there is a small showroom also located in Masonville Mall. The focus of this video is to let people know that there are laws about where you can protest... and the easiest way to get this information is by making a phone call and finding out! You don't want to put a lot of effort into organizing a protest only to find out that you are not allowed to be at a certain place... so it's important to learn what is legal.

Learning Where To Protest

Remember that I said promoting your protest is very important... so more people will join in! As I continued to make these 'shorts' to show people how to protest, I was also using them to promote our first protest... accomplishing two things at once.

One person in our group had a 30 foot long black snake that she had made for other protests... years ago. In this fun video, I show how a new message is being made for this snake.

Sewing The Seeds Of Love

This is another fun video set to music showing me at super fast speed continuing to get our signs ready for our first protest.

Painting Signs Continues

OKAY THEN... We've learned a lot about how to get ready for a protest... now it's time to promote the events and do them....

Tesla Takedown #1 - I just couldn't wait for the first protest to happen... so I went out and did a protest all on my own...

Tesla Takedown #2 - The First BIG event!!! Lots of people were invited... the media was invited... and we had some nice weather. The first people to show up where the police! They came and introduced themselves to me and we shared a few smiles. I told them that our group was very happy to have them there in case some knuckledraggers showed up to cause a scene. This never happened and it turned out to be a great event. Several people had come from out of town. Many people were first time protesters and they were very happy with how much fun we all had. When CTV London News showed up, I really focused my messaging on how our group was taking positive action to inspire others. We weren't there to cause problems... we were there to share an important message in a positive way. This was reflected in the online story they created about our protest...

I made this image from several screenshots of the story as it appears on the CTV website. I did this because sometimes links will become corrupt and I did not want to lose this story. So... for as long as this link will stay valid... here is the link to the CTV story...

Here are several of the photos that I took at the event and below each one is a link to a video from this event...

The best photo from the Tesla Takedown, however, was taken from the CTV News story about this event. It has since become our 'banner' photo and used in all future promotions of other protest actions.

It was a lot of work putting all of this together and the next day my family and I relaxed and went of a nice country drive to chill out. However... while I was at the place we went to, I remembered how important it is to thank people... so I made a video to do just that!

+Please Note+
I will be adding more words, photos and links to these stories very soon...
For now, I 'm just sharing the promo fliers that we had made for them...
