Happy New Year!

I've always enjoyed ceremonies and events designed to usher in peace and love into our world.  As Devon has been growing up, we've created some rather unique moments to do this.  I've shared how the meanings behind these ceremonies are given their strengths depending on how much thought you bring to them.  

With the ending of 2024 upon us, Devon and I decided to create a fun ceremony to usher in 2025...

First, we cut up and chopped up some wood pallets so we could have a nice bonfire.  Bonfires are always more fun with music, so we charged my small portable speaker and downloaded one of Devon's playlists onto my phone.

Next, I had Devon divide a standard 8 1/2" x 11" piece of paper into eight pieces.  Using colourful markers, he wrote one word on each piece of paper.  The word that he wrote down described what he wanted to see more of in 2025.  Once the fire was burning well, he would take each piece of paper and say the word aloud before putting into the fire to be burned.

The idea for this is rather simple.  I shared with Devon how energy is transferred onto the piece of paper when he writes the word.  When the paper is then burned, the energy is released into the universe.  When this happens, we have created an opportunity for the energy to come back to our Earth and remanifest itself in creative ways.

It's a little hard to see... cuz it was dark when we enjoyed our bonfire... but in the first photo you can see Devon holding a piece of paper with the word 'peace' printed on it.  The second photo shows this piece of paper as it landed in the fire. One second later and the paper was ablaze... and then... it was time for another piece of paper to be burned!

With so much looming over us as we enter 2025 - wars in over 30 countries around the world, environmental disasters ever increasing, political and social unrest and so many other issues that will be challenging us all in this coming year - it's important to find ways... simple ways... to strengthen our resolve and inspire actions that will allow us to grow and prosper as we move into the future!
